Bradley Cooper Lost Roles For Being Unf***able?!
Bradley Cooper was once considered not “f***able” enough? We wouldn’t believe it if it didn’t come from the sexy stud himself.
Promoting his new film A Star is Born, the American Sniper and Silver Linings Playbook star shared that he wasn’t always considered the catch and sexy stud muffin that he’s universally seen as today.
While talking to W Magazine, the 43-year-old star and actor says that he once lost jobs because be wasn’t “f***able” enough for the roles. Thankfully, that instilled in him a thick skin and a desire to crawl up from the mud.
“I’ve always been an underdog. I was always operating under the lens of not really being seen as the ‘main guy’. I’ve heard it all in my career. Early on, I didn’t get a role because they said I wasn’t ‘f***able.’ In the end, you have to reserve your attention for the work and not listen to anyone.”
Cooper, who co-wrote the script for A Star is Born, as well as directed it, and cast Lady Gaga as the star, shares that he still receives disapproval for his work in Hollywood. It seems that everyone wants to put him in a box and doesn’t trust that he will rise to the task of whatever work he is doing. This included directing A Star is Born.
“People I care about, who care about me, told me not to direct A Star Is Born, said that it would be too difficult and I should start with something easier. Luckily, I didn’t listen. I loved that it was really, really hard to make this film. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have the same value. And that’s always been my goal: to make something, no matter how challenging, that will be remembered,” the actor told W magazine.
We’ve got to say, we think Bradley Cooper is very f***able and we also think he is capable of doing great things in Hollywood. The smash success that is A Star is Born is a great example of that.
