New Web Series Jaded Explores San Francisco’s Gay Hookup Culture

New Web Series Jaded

Get ready, because your next great internet obsession is just around the corner.

The teaser trailer for a new web series has dropped and it has us interested in seeing more. The original web series, titled Jaded, was created by and stars JD Scalzo. It was also directed by Brian Emerick, and the story explores the gay dating and sex scene.

Unfortunately though, the series isn’t ready to be binged by us just yet. In fact, it’s still needs work (and funding) to be produced. If you’re interested, it’s just short of reaching its funding goal on GoFundMe (as of this article’s posting). You can go support it there if you like.

If you need more info, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. The official pitch for the series goes:

Jaded tells the story of an ordinary man living in the extraordinary city of San Francisco. We follow him as he traverses the gay dating world, looking for love in all the wrong places while on a relentless search for something more. Of course, it’s based on some of my experiences and personal journey, but offers a universal slice-of-life look into the sometimes heartbreaking, never dull, and always exciting San Francisco gay community.”

On top of that, the hope is that the story will be:

“A look into the contemporary gay dating world particular to San Francisco, through the eyes of a man lost inside the hookup culture, while on a relentless pursuit for a way out. He asks all the questions, he tries all the things, he falls in love in all the wrong places. Playing both the victim and the culprit, follow him traverse a world full of contradictions, over-the-top self-expression, casual drug use, and the age old idea of ‘free love’ with all the consequences that follow. In a place, seemingly without any rules, how do you know which game to play when you don’t really want to play one to begin with?”

The story also boasts a large and diverse cast of characters and actors. This includes JD Scalzo at the helm and also features names like  Jordan Laurence Digby, Alan Littlehales, Earl Paus, Tom McVey, Donald Currie, Adena Walker, Mike Dinneen,Brooke PartainAlbert Rubio, and most famously Bob the Drag Queen.

Once again, the web series isn’t finished production yet and is trying to become a reality. If you want to help back it and make it come to life, you can go support it on its GoFundMe page.
