Perez Hilton Would Prefer It If His Son Was Not Gay

Perez Hilton Would Prefer It If His Son Never Danced

Perez Hilton is causing some controversy over his words (what else is new), and now he’s doubling down on what he said. Though, he’s also explaining where he’s coming from.

The controversy first hit when the blogger and Youtuber shared in a podcast that he wouldn’t be signing his son up for any dance classes because he thinks dance classes help turn boys gay.

Then to backup his perspective on the topic, Hilton posted a Youtube video (found below) to explain where he was coming from.

First, Hilton, who’s gay himself, shared that he will love his son no matter what sexual orientation or gender identity he lands on later in life.

“If my son turns out to be gay, or if he’s already gay and not able to articulate that because he’s only five, I will love my son unconditionally and support him. If my son is transgender, I will love him and support him unconditionally. However, if I had my preference, I would prefer my son to be heterosexual because that’s easier.”

That said, Hilton then shared that he would prefer if his son was a straight guy. Hilton backs-up this statement by saying he just wants his son to have as easy a life as possible and being LGBTQ automatically makes life harder.

As his parent, Perez Hilton wants to guide his son to a happy and successful life, so he believes its his job to direct passions and hobbies that will lead to that. That also means Hilton wants to direct his son away from passions that could lead to homosexuality. Apparently, dancing is one of them.

“I’m not going to put a number on it, but I would say a good amount — maybe like 50 percent or more — of little boys who take dance class end up being gay.”

“I don’t think that’s a homophobic thing to say,” the 40-year-old continued. “Just like I don’t think it’s a homophobic thing to say that a disproportionate amount of male singer/actor/dancers on Broadway are gay. There are more gay men drawn to that profession. That’s not homophobic, that’s just a fact.”

Despite his firm stance on the subject, Perez Hilton does say that time will tell what will happen to his son in the future and he will embrace it fully. On top of that, he also understands that nothing’s for certain and he may even change his mind later in the future.

“I guess I’m still processing it all and maybe my thoughts on this will change down the line, but I just want to set the record straight.”
